Renal infarction complicating FMD of renal arteries is rare in the literature, with most of the cases having causative cardiovascular risk factors including coagulopathy, ischaemic heart disease, atrial fibrillationor structural cardiac abnormalities, none of which was present in this case. In conclusion, FMD may occur in atypical asymmetric presentations causing renal infarctions in both kidneys. Radiological interventions in such cases should focuson stabilizing renal lesions and renal function.”
“The aim of this study was to investigate reliability of Myotonometer measurements, by assessing muscle Lone
in muscle rectus femoris in children with cerebral palsy and children Without disabilities. Differences in Muscle tone between groups and conditions, contracted or relaxed, were also Anlotinib mw investigated. A total of 15 children with cerebral palsy and 15 children without disabilities Protein Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor participated. Intrarater reliability of Myotonometer measurements showed high to very high intraclass correlation, tinder both conditions and in both groups, Interrater
reliability showed high to very high intraclass correlation under both conditions in the control group and in the cerebral palsy group under contracted condition and moderate under relaxed condition. There were slight. differences in tissue displacement between groups, although not statistically significant. Myotonometer Measurements are reliable when assessing Muscle tone in children. However, there selleck chemical is still a need to investigate this method for objectively quantifying increased muscle tone in children with cerebral palsy.”
“The acute and chronic toxic effects of Bisphenol A (BPA) on Chlorella pyrenoidosa (C. pyrenoidosa) and Scenedesmus obliquus (S. obliquus) were not well understood.
The indoor experiments were carried out to observe and analyze the BPA-induced changes. Results of the observations showed that in acute tests BPA could significantly inhibit the growth of both algae, whereas chronic exposure hardly displayed similar trend. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Catalase (CAT) activities of both algae were promoted in all the treatments. Chlorophyll a synthesis of the two algae exhibited similar inhibitory trend in short-term treatments, and in chronic tests C. pyrenoidosa hardly resulted in visible influence, whereas in contrast, dose-dependent inhibitory effects of S. obliquus could be clearly observed. The experimental results indicated that the growth and Chlorophyll a syntheses of S.obliquus were more sensitive in response to BPA than that of C. pyrenoidosa, whereas for SOD andCAT activities, C. pyrenoidosa was more susceptible. This research provides a basic understanding of BPA toxicity to aquatic organisms. (c) 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Environ Toxicol 29: 714-722, 2014.
